Growing on the balcony!
As some of you know, one of my hobbies is growing plants on my balcony. Many peolpe in Sweden does it and. We Swed´s do love nature and plants a lot.
Here are some pictures from my balcony:
We sweds are obsessed with strawberries. We eat them all summer and everybody has an opinion about strawberries.
On Friday we celebrate midsummer in Sweden (and yes I´ll take some pictures for you), and a huge part of the midsummer tradition is to eat Swedish strawberries. Sometimes they are really expensive (depending on how warm the spring has been), but we buy them anyway.
I took some seeds from a bell pepper (i had for cooking) and planted. I was a bit surprised to see them grow.

Ambushed in the forest
This is Maja, my ten year old daughter!
We were out in the forest, walking the dog and playing.
I think she was trying to sneak up on me with her bow.
Scary!
(Not many highwaymen use pink Dolly shoes these days)
But not as scary as all the mosquitos!
We had to abandon the forest and run.

We are both huge crafting fans! =)

Lapland /Gällivare /Dundret
Many years ago, I lived in the north of Sweden (above the arctic circle) for a couple of months. The town I lived in is called Gällivare and it´s situated in Swedish Lapland.
It´s not very popular in Sweden to visit the northern parts of the country, and I have never understood why.
In this Picture, you can see the fell (mountain) Dundret and it´s one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.

This is the view from the top of Dundret. In this picture you can see Malmberget in the background: It´s famous for it´s iron mine.
This is from Aitik, another iron mine in Gällivare. Many people in this area of Sweden work in the steel industry.
Vassara river, runs through Gällivare. In the north of Sweden there are many rivers and we use them for hydropower. 46% of all electricity produced in Sweden comes from hydroelectricity.
On a clear day, you can see very far from the top of Dundret. This is a picture of the Scandes, the mountain range between Sweden and Norway.
(I changed the settings, now the comments are open for anyone!)

Last day in school (before summer break)
Yesterday was last day in school, before summer break!
It´s common to have the last day in school in church (its only about 1 hour long)
Here are some pictures from church and my walk with the dog!

The elevator in my building. The signs says "please do not smoke"
(some people actually do smoke in the elevator!)
